Licoricia of Winchester ( -1277) was a Jewish financier. She has been described by historian Robert Stacey as "the most important Jewish woman in medieval England".
She was a wife and mother, who despite the increasingly difficult circumstances of the Jews in thirteenth-century England, which involved regular, punitive taxation, arbitrary imprisonments, and increasing religious intolerance, advanced through advantageous marriages and business acumen. She appears to have had a close relationship with King Henry III.
Her interests close to Coventry lead to her claim on the estate of Charlecote Park in payment for debts owed to her as described in the story document below. A statue was erected in her memory in Winchester in 2022.
